We can all get some rest now. Jamie Dornan has been cast as Christian Grey, according to Variety, and now the show (Fifty Shades of Grey movie) can truly go on.
Finally, we have the anointed one. Multiple reports say that Dornan is in final stages of the negotiations.
When Charlie Hunnam dropped out suddenly in mid October, the entertainment world and Fifty Shades of Grey Universe went into a tizzy.
The search was sure exhausting for the producers, but it also caused stress to true-blue Christian Grey fans who wanted to know that the right man would be chosen for the part.
Speculation about casting has been rampant but there were many articles, also, saying that Jamie Dornan’s audition went well. Then there were many posts calling him the front-runner, which was reminiscent of the days before Charlie Hunnam was announced.
He is clearly a hot, handsome many with a brooding look about him. He’s a former model, knows how to work his sexuality, and can give a woman the look that can make her want to take her clothes off. And there are so many photos of him looking sexy and half naked on the internet that it helps readers enhance the fantasy, whereas there were not many photos of Charlie Hunnam other than with his scruffy blonde beard for his character Jax Teller in Sons of Anarchy.
Dornan began his career as a model in very high profile campaigns, such and Calvin Klein and Dior, which is why there are so many half-naked images of him on the internet. There is even a picture of his manhood on the internet. We’ll let you search for it on your own.
Dornan is known for his role as Sheriff Graham Humbert in ABC series “Once Upon a Time” and as a serial killer in BBC crime drama “The Fall.” He had a small role in Sofia Coppola’s “Marie Antoinette.
But he is essentially the “fresh face” producers said they were looking for.
Dornan dated actress Keira Knightley for two years. He is married to English musician Amelia Warner and they are expecting their first child together this fall or winter.
The Hollywood Reporter says, “Dornan tested Friday opposite female lead Dakota Johnson for director Sam Taylor-Johnson, author E.L. James and producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti.”
It’s a tough role to cast. Over 90 million copies of the Fifty Shades of Grey books have been sold and many women have a very specific fantasy of their Mr. Grey.Let’s hope Dornan gets a warmer welcome than Charlie Hunnam. And that his has enough time to perfect that lovely Irish accent into Mr. Grey’s commanding American voice.
Can you relax now that we have our Christian Grey? Even if he was not your first pick, will you give him a chance?
