Did producers take their inspiration for the new Fifty Shades of Grey billboard from a popular Mad Men poster?
Is Christian Grey, a.k.a. Jamie Dornan, mimicking the stance of Don Draper, a.k.a. Jon Hamm, in the 2010 advertising campaign for the show.
January Jones, a.k.a. Betty Draper, and Betty Fancis, thinks they did.
She snapped a photo of the Fifty Shades of Grey Billboard and posted it on Instagram, according to E! Online.
“Does this look familiar to anyone else?” asked about the “Mr. Grey Will See You Now” ad she snapped. She added the hashtag #madmenpostercicrca2010.
The 2010 and the new Fifty Poster are above. Don Draper is looking out on his Manhattan and Madison Avenue and Christian Grey is looking out on his Seattle in his stance of Master of the Universe (which was what the E.L. James manuscript was called before it became Fifty Shades of Grey).
Well, Don Draper has been as hot as Christian Grey, and as smooth in his day. So whats a little sharing of a stance between hot men.
Of course, most people are usually staring at Jon Hamm’s front, at his legendarily large penis which is often riding comando in his suit slacks. Producers of Mad Men, in fact asked him to wear underwear when they started shooting in the sixties era of tight men’s slacks.
