Interview with Michelle A. Valentine About WICKED WHITE

By A.C. Rose
For Romance at Random

Michelle A. Valentine was working as a nurse when she first read Twilight. It ignited a passion for reading that led her to consume 180 books that same year. Soon, she got the taste for penning her own novels. Although once a nurse, always a nurse, she exchanged her white stockings and stethoscope to write what she calls, “sexy fiction for naughty vixens.”

She first won readers over with her independently published Black Falcon series about sexy rockers on the road and the ladies who love them and has two other series featuring cocky alpha heroes. This week she celebrates her first foray into traditional publishing with the release of Wicked White. Her fans are thrilled to know she is back on the rocker beat with the start of this new series.

We spoke with Michelle about her career and her new music man, Ace White.

A.C. Rose: You are a nurse and worked full time in the nursing profession for many years, what inspired you to try your hand as an author?

Michelle A. Valentine: Honestly, it was after reading 180 books in one year and then wanting to find a very specific kind of story that didn’t exist. When I asked the librarian at my local library if they had a story like the one I wanted to read (I described the plot to her) her answer was, “No, but I would want to read that so you should write it.” I walked out of there thinking “Maybe I will.” LOL

THE BOSS OF ME, Part One, is LIVE from A.C. Rose

Boss of Me 1 Draft

I have been working on THE BOSS OF ME for three years!!! I am so excited to bring out Book One. It’s a short one, and I am finishing up Book Two as we speak.

Here is a synopsis:

Jillian Spencer works in publishing and is addicted to romance books and movies with sexy alpha heroes who do not take “no” for an answer. She works too hard, maybe to hide her secret wish to be chosen and dominated by a man who is gorgeous, powerful, and masterful.

On a Saturday that began with a sexy dream, and a series of events that made her long for a romantic adventure, Jillian ends up in the arms of a gorgeous, seductive CEO-type. He reminds her of the hero of the movie she’d seen…and the hero in the book she was reading… and maybe even the guy in her dream. Oh, and he also looks a little like her new billionaire boss.

Whoever he is, he seems to be the perfect fantasy man. The only problem: He demands Jillian surrender and submit to him, immediately—without even telling her his name. She has to choose between the safety of her fictional worlds…and the possible danger of having her secret fantasy come true.

FOR ADULTS OVER 18, ONLY. This is hot, hot, hot material and should be read only if cold shower is available.

This is Part One of The Boss of Me series. Part Two coming in July. Available on KINDLE.

Chatting With Marie Force About the QUANTUM TRILOGY

By A.C. Rose
For Romance at Random

Marie Force has 40 successful books under her belt, including multiple series (McCarthy, Green Mountain, and Fatal). And she will keep those stories going and expects to publish 11 new books this year. But with her newest trilogy, Quantum, she is switching things up: This is her first foray specifically into the erotic romance genre. It’s not that her existing books are not sexy—they are—but this trilogy is meant to be highly erotic. It has a BDSM theme, and is written in first person, a big change for Force.

Fortunately for readers, the three full-length books in the trilogy are coming three weeks in a row: on April 14, 21 and 28 — so as to spare us from cliff-hanger hangovers.

We had a chance to speak with M.S, aka Marie, about this exciting new series.

A.C. Rose: You’ve had a hugely successful career as an author of contemporary romance, what inspired you to write an erotic romance trilogy?

Marie Force: Thanks for having me! I was inspired to write the Quantum Trilogy because the characters of Flynn and Natalie were calling to me, and the story I wanted to tell was erotic. It’s really that simple.

Interview with Christina Lauren About BEAUTIFUL SECRET

By A.C. Rose
For Romance at Random

The Beautiful series has become iconic in this new era of erotic romance. It is all thanks Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings, who, blended together, form the writing team known as Christina Lauren. Self-proclaimed besties, partners, soul mates, and twin-brains they write young adult and adult fiction. The Wild Seasons Series, as well as Sublime, are among their other published books.

Christina is a former junior high school counselor. Lauren, known by intimates as Lo, has a Ph.D. in neuroscience and was a researcher. These days they are both full time writers, with nine New York Times best-selling books under their belts, and a penchant for writing stories about super-hot men who fall hard for sassy, sexy, smart, and strong women.

In the Beautiful series, this dynamic duo has brought us rich characters that not only pair up for crazy hot romance and sizzling sex, but who share camaraderie and deep friendship that makes readers keep coming back to see them all again from book to book.

Lucky for us, the latest in the series, BEAUTIFUL SECRET, is available this week. We chatted with Christina Lauren about our favorite characters and their new book.

A.C. Rose: Bennett Ryan, Max Stella, and Will Sumner have become iconic fictional alpha males. What do you think makes them stand out and gives them staying power with fans?

Christina Lauren: Thank you so much! One of the things we work to cultivate is a range of male characters who are strong and ambitious, capable and competent, but who—above all—are supportive of the women in their lives. Bennett wants Chloe to conquer the world, Max wants Sara to embrace her quiet strength—whether that’s kicking ass in the corporate universe, or at home with little Annabel—and Will wants Hanna to take the science world by storm, while still embracing every curiosity she has. There’s also something to be said that these alpha males fell for women who are smart (if not smarter) and strong (if not stronger) than they are. There are no damsels in distress for our Beautiful men, and we think that really resonates with readers who are juggling thirty different things every day and want to see themselves in the books they’re reading.

Erotic tension sizzles between the three duos in the series. What are some of the most memorable things reader’s shared about why they fell in love with all your characters in the Beautiful series?

One of our favorite stories came from a reader who had never run a day in her life, but became inspired by Beautiful Player, where Will coached Hanna into marathon-shape. This reader wanted to run a marathon and as she read the book, she trained, imagining Will was there at her side. Will is so supportive of Hanna in Player, and even when there’s a question of whether or not she’ll end up with him romantically, he follows through on his promise and is there with her every step of the way, cheering her on. This reader ran her first marathon after reading the book, and both of us were really emotional when she told us about it, and the degree of triumph she felt.

Q&A: Jasinda Wilder Gets Personal — and Paranormal

By A.C. Rose
For Romance At Random

We all know Jasinda Wilder as a well-established super star in the world of romance and erotic romance, yet her latest book, DJINN AND TONIC, book two of The Houri Legends series, brings readers into the realm of the paranormal.

She weaves very different kind of love stories in this paranormal series, yet these books carry the classic theme of all of Wilder’s books: The healing power of love.

We chatted with the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author about her newest book, the series, and her decision to write in this genre.

A.C.Rose: You have authored so many amazing series and love stories – Big Girls, Falling Into You, Stripped, Alpha. What makes this series different?

Jasinda Wilder: Well, primarily the fact that it’s paranormal. But it’s also a bit of a departure from even most paranormal romance. When I sat down to write Jack and Djinn, [first book in the series] my goal was to write something paranormal that wasn’t vampires or werewolves or whatever. I wanted to write something that felt fresh and original.
